Abstract
701,155. Air supply to furnaces. THERMOFIRE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and TERRETT, J. F. July 27, 1951 [Aug. 1, 1950]. No. 19195/50. Class 51 (1) In a furnace having associated therewith a source of air under pressure, the air is introduced below the firebars by a perforated tubular member or members E provided with perforations which allow air to flow to the whole of the area of the grate and closed at both inner and outer ends, the air being admitted at a point D<SP>1</SP> intermediate said ends bv a conduit D which constitutes the only means of air entry to the furnace. Air is drawn through an adjustable damper M to a blower B driven by an electric motor C and is supplied under pressure to the conduit D. A thermostat (not shown) operates a switch H to stop or start the motor. The damper M closes the air inlet when the motor is switched off.
