Abstract
827,268. Solid fuel furnaces. VORKAUF, H. Feb. 3, 1958 [March 11, 1957], No. 3522/58. Class 51 (1). An electric motor 12 operating a slag clearing device 2 through linkage 13 is switched on by a time switch 14 operating at intervals regulated in dependence on a value varying with the furnace load. The varying value may be the temperature in the outlet flue, the setting of an air inlet damper, the rotational speed of an air supply fan or the pressure produced by the fan. The amount of water circulating in a boiler or the difference between the inlet and outlet temperature of the boiler water may control the time switch. The time switch may be manually adjusted to vary the time intervals according to the value of the fuel. The travel of the slag clearing device 2 may be altered by adjusting the linkage 13.
