Class 12(3) A lubricant distributer comprises a body part 10, Fig. 1, housing a conically-shaped spring pressed valve 12, ducts 18 extending radially from the valve seat to cylindrical chambers 19 in which tell-tale plungers 20 are mounted on tension springs 21, and hollow delivery plugs 25 which incorporate metering jets 26. The plungers 20 have small holes 22, and the ends of the chambers 19 are closed by plugs 23 having visible feed windows 24. In operation, a reciprocating piston pump forces a pulsating supply of oil through the passage 13 to periodically lift the valve 12 and pass oil through the passages 18 to the chambers 19, the pressure of the oil lifting the plungers 20 to displace the oil above them through the passages 33. When the pressure impulse dies away the plungers are drawn down by their springs 21 displacing oil beneath through holes 22. The jets may be associated with the passages 18 instead of the plugs 25, or the plugs may be elbow-shaped as in Fig. 3, and provided with an internally threaded bore 34 engaged by a screw having a reduced portion 36 leaving an adjustable annular passage 37 communicating with a passage 39 in the limb 40. The compression of spring 30 may be adjusted by turning the screw cap 31, and the delivery passages may be provided with calibrated orifices.
