Abstract

700,126. Centrifugal pumps. HENDRY, J. July 17, 1951; No. 16890/51. Class 110 (1) A priming pump B removes gases from a float chamber D which is connected-by orifices D1 to the suction branch C of the centrifugal pump A. When priming is complete, float F lifts a valve H until a parallel portion H3 has entered a bore H4, thereby disconnecting the suction of pump B from the float chamber D. Further upward movement of the valve H causes an extension H2 to bear against a a valve K and unseat it, whereby the suction of pump B is connected, by way of a filter M, to atmosphere. Pump B then runs idle. A baffle C1 keeps the water level above the inner diameter A3 of the impeller blades. The delivery is provided with a non- return valve A1.
