Abstract

698,216. Annular cutters. KASER, F. Aug. 14, 1951 [Aug. 24, 1950], No. 19176/61. Class 83 (iii). Apparatus for cutting discs or rings comprises a cutter 14 rotatable about the axis of a shaft 11, a guide body 1 which is bored to receive the shaft, and an adjustable bush 21 for limiting the depth of cut. The cutter is adjustable along a graduated arm 12 secured to the shaft 11. In operation, adjustable spikes 2 on the body 1 are pressed into the material and the shaft 11 is then pressed downwardly, against a spring 22, and rotated. The material is additionally held by a ridge 4 which may be serrated or contoured. In a modification, the body 1 is formed as a plate with the spikes 2 on one side and a recess for the shaft 11 on the other. Alternatively, the spikes may be omitted. Two cutters may be provided.
