Abstract
698,030. Silencers for gaseous currents. MAXIM SILENCER CO. May 1. 1952 [Aug. 8, 1951]. No. 10983/52. Class 7 (ii). A shell 10, preferably of elliptical cross-section. is divided by partitions 17, 18 into outlet chambers 20, 21 provided with outlet conduits 28, 29, and a central inlet chamber 19 which communicates with the outlet chambers by one or more tubes 24 ... 27 and in which inlet conduits 22, 23 open towards each other. The conduits 22, 23 may pass through the chambers 20, 21 and be provided with anti-resonating slots and holes 30, 31. The tubes 24 ... 27 also may be provided with antiresonating holes 31. There may be strengthening sleeves 13 ... 16 inside the shell, and the partitions and end plates 11, 12 may be laminated.
