Abstract
276,074. Bie, O. S. May 18, 1926. Exhaust silencers. - A silencer in which the parts are relatively adjustable, to vary the shape of the channels through which the gases pass, comprises inner and outer fixed cylinders 1, 3 and an intermediate cylinder 2 pivoted eccentrically at 10. The gases enter through one end 5 of the inner cylinder and escape through an outlet 7 at the opposite end of the outer cylinder, or vice-versa. The cylinders 2, 3 are provided with rows of slots or openings 8, 9 as shown.
