Exhaust-silencers.-An exhaust-silencer comprises a series of coaxial cylinders 1 - - 6 forming a series of chambers each connected to the succeeding one by apertures 14 having an aggregate cross-sectional area increasing with the distance of the chamber from the inlet 9, a baffle 12 being arranged in the outer chamber to increase the length of the paths between the apertures 14 in the inner wall 5 of the outer chamber and the main outlet 13.
