Abstract

In a modification of the apparatus described in the parent Specification for the <PICT:0697701/III/1> electrostatic projection of varnishes and the like upon surfaces, the varnish is forced through a compressible elastic feed tube from the feed tanks to the nozzle by tightly compressing the tube from point to point progressively towards the nozzle. In Fig. 1 the feed tank 1 is connected by means of a compressible tube 2 to a spray nozzle 5 which contains an electrode 8 fed with high voltage current. The tube 2 rests on the anvil 3 and is compressed successively from point to point over a certain length by the rollers 4 mounted at regular intervals on the rotatable disc 9. The compressible tube is preferably contained between metal foils 7. The distance of the anvil 3 from the centre of the disc 9 may be adjusted by means of an eccentric.
