697,388. Manually-actuated valves. CASEY, J. J. June 25, 1952 [Aug. 7, 1951], No. 16021/52. Class 135 A tap for dispensing liquids, e.g., beer, comprises a valve member 1 Figs. 2, 4, having a recess 13A mounting a neoprene valve washer 13, a pistor portion 1A slidable in a sleeve 4 and a stem 2 extendly outwardly through the sleeve. The sleeve is secured to the tap body 7 with a fluid-tight ring 10 above the inlet 8 whilst a spring 5 withir the sleeve 4 is protectec against the controllec liquid by a sealing rinc 14. On rotation of a handle 21 formed on a cap 22 secured to the stem 2, cam studs 23 engage a cam 19 to open the valve against its spring 5.
