697,112. Dynamo -- electric machines. BRIGHI, S. Dec. 18, 1950 [Dec. 19, 1949], No. 30754/50. Class 35. A motor has a brake 30 which becomes disengaged by the action of an angularly movable member 16 freely mounted on the same main rotor shaft 14 when the stator current is turned on. The member 16 carries a short-circuited winding or it may be wound so as to adjust its torque as required. On interrupting the stator current, no torque will be exerted by the member 16 and consequently the spring 32 urges the brake 30 into engagement.
