Abstract

693,978. Mine roof supporting bars. LINSINGEN, M. VON. June 30, 1950 [July 1, 1949], No. 16412/50. Class 20 (ii). Mine roof supporting bars 1b, 1c, Fig. 1 of the type in which the bar 1c nearest the coal face is supported without a prop, are coupled end to end by means of a hook 4, Fig 4 on one bar 1c engaging a U-loop 3 on another bar 1b, a cross locking wedge 9 engaging between a part 7 of the second bar and the ho.ok end 13 to lock it in position: the hook 4 is arranged in substantially the median longitudinal plane of the bar 1c, and the loop 3 is arranged in or below the median longitudinal plane of the bar 1b, the depth of the downwardly open mouth of the hook 4 being substantially equal to the cross-sectional diameter of the loop end and the thickness of the hook 4 being not greater than the distance between the upper side of the loop 3 and the upper side of the bar 1b. As shown, the bars 1b, 1c are of box-section and the legs 6 of the loop 3 are welded to the outer vertical sides 5 of the bar 1b, the upper and lower sides being cut away. The legs 6 are joined by a bridge 7 having a cutout portion 8 for guiding the wedge 9. The hook 4, detachably secured to the bar 1c, has a broadened and curved end part 13 against which the wedge 9 is forced. 'The loop 3 may be detachably secured to the bar 1b by providing the leg ends with a projection which fits into the hollow section of the bar and is secured by a cross bolt. In this case the wedge 9 is arranged above the lower side of the bar and is guided in the loop or in a projection on the loop. The bars may be of double T-section and may be of steel or light metal or the bars may be of light metal and the coupling members (loop, hook and wedge) made of steel.

A special feature of the described cargo hook is that its frame in the upper part is provided with two sheaves with vertical and shaped grooves, in which the supporting axle and spring are mutually spring-loaded The seam is clamped, its latch, and the hollow bolt is movable to move the springs relative to the axis when it is disengaged from the hook horn. With this implementation of the load hook, the cargo line is automatically uncoupled and its reliability is increased. Figure 1 also shows the relative positions of the support axis, the axial clamp and the hollow bolt: I at the time preceding the coupling of the load hook to the carriage; II - at the time of their coupling; III - at the time of uncoupling the sling. The cargo hook consists of a skeleton /, horn 2 pivotally connected to it, a movable hollow bolt 3 having a conical head 4 in the upper part, and a go-5 "lower part. the upper part, two cheek stones 6, made with a vertical groove a and a shaped groove b, in which mutually spring-loaded springs are installed, the supporting axis 8 and the axial floating lock 9 supported in position I on the head 5 of the bolt n fixing in position II spring 7, the entrance of this in the recess of the top of the figure groove 6.1 ^ Bolt 3 In the lower part, it has a cut-out in, which allows the head 5 to be lowered to position I. During operation, the load hook is fed to the log breaking zone. Prelude than the cargo sling ring will be put on the horn, bolt
