Abstract
598,515. Sleepers; tie-bars. SAMUEL, H. A. Nov. 7, 1945, No. 29691. [Class 104(ii)] Metal pot sleepers A are formed integral with chairs 2 and have pivotal connection about an horizontal axis with the tie-bar B. Each sleeper consists of a flat plate 1 with tapering longitudinal ribs 3 and transverse ribs 4 deeper than the ribs 3. End lugs 5 carry a transverse pin 6 engaged by the hooked end of the bar B, the sleepers being moved apart after engagement of the tiebar. The parts may be cast in iron or steel or made of welded mild steel. The Provisional Specification states that ferro,- concrete may also be used.
