Abstract
693,285. Bending glass. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 28, 1951 [March 2, 1950], No. 5248/50. Class 56. [Also in Group XL (a)] A method of manufacturing an optical window for a cathode ray tube, wherein there is provided a glass disc which may be in the form of a meniscus, comprises supporting the central part of the disc between holding members and heating the part of the disc projecting from the holding members and shaping it, by spading or rolling it over, to form a flange surrounding the central portion. The disc may be optically worked before the above process is carried out.
