Abstract

685,800. Discharge apparatus. TESLA, NATIONAL CORPORATION, and VANA, J. Nov. 8, 1950 [Nov. 12, 1949], No. 27336/50. Class 39(i) The supporting or centring members 2 of an electrode system are cemented at their ends 5 to the inner wall of the envelope by a material of lower softening temperature than the envelope. The cement, e.g. borosilicate glass, is applied either to the whole rim of the centring member, or parts thereof, and may also be applied to the tube wall; after insertion of the electrode system, heat is applied from outside the tube until the cement softens.
