Abstract

<PICT:0693207/IV (c)/1> Textile piece goods are sewn end-to-end to form a web of any desired length which is washed by passing through a lathering vat 2, then a washing vat 4 with vertically reciprocating plungers 5 and then a rinsing vat 9 with similar plungers 10, the web being fed by means of regulable speed rolls 3, 6, 11. Between the washing and rinsing vats a travelling lattice 7 is arranged with spray nozzles 8 above it for preliminary rinsing of the web. By regulating the speed of the rolls and of the lattice 7 the web can be made to enter the vats 4 and 9 at a higher speed than it leaves so that it moves through the vats in a loose creased condition. A folding device 12 is provided at the delivery end of the machine.
