691,698. Valves. DAVIS, Sir R. H., and SIEBE, GORMAN & CO., Ltd. Sept. 28, 1951 [Oct. 31, 1950], No. 26564/50. Class 135 A non-return valve particularly for use in breathing apparatus comprises a spring- loaded plunger with a valve face at one end and a packing disc disposed between the face and its seat, the face being provided with a groove to receive the seat and packing disc deformed thereby. The closure member 3 carries a rubber disc 2 on the stud 5 and co-operates with a knife-edge seat 1, a groove 4 being formed in the member 3 opposite the seat so that the disc effects yielding contact with the seat.
