Class 75(iv) A reading lamp, particularly for the seat beside a car driver, has a housing consisting of a parabolic reflecting portion a2 and an adjoining cylindrical part a1 the latter having ribbon-like laminae b3 extending from the aperture of the housing: up to the transverse plane through the light. source c thereby to prevent lateral escape of light; the. light source c is situated in a transverse plane in front of the parabolic reflecting portion a2. The laminae may comprise concentric rings b, as shown, or vertical parallel strips, or a network of crossing strips. They are of sheet metal and are preferably matt-black.
