Abstract

519,972. Lampshades. GAUTIER, A. Aug. 12, 1939, No. 23286. Convention date, Jan. 26, 1939. [Class 75 (ii)] An electric lamp bulb 2 is masked during air raids by a bell-shaped member 1 and a cupshaped cover 5 formed with a threaded connection 3, 4. The bottom of the cover 5 is formed with a light-emitting aperture 9. The members 1, 5 are suitably formed by thin aluminium stampings having reflecting inner surfaces and black "crackled" and matt finishes respectively on their outer surfaces. The member 1 is secured between inner and outer rings 6, 7 of an electricity insulating material resting on the lamp bulb or secured to the lamp socket. For normal use the cover 5 is removed.
