869,806. Reflectors for vehicle lamps. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd., JOSEPH. Nov. 9, 1959 [Nov. 17, 1958], No. 36866/59. Classes 75(2) and 75(4). A vehicle lamp reflector of dished form consists of eight integral sections of which one pair of opposite sections 7 form portions of a cylinder, a second pair of opposite sections 10 form portions of a pair of cylinders having parallel spaced axes and the two pairs of intervening sections 13 form portions of the surface of a paraboloid of revolution. The axis of the cylinder of which the sections 7 form a part is horizontal and intersects a central horizontal axis through the bulb filament. The axes of the cylinders of which the sections 10 form parts are vertical and on opposite sides of the central horizontal axis. The paraboloid of revolution of which' the sections 13 form a part is generated about the central horizontal axis and has its focal point at or close to the bulb filament. The sections 7 produce a vertically diverging beam, the sections 10 a horizontal diverging beam of greater angle and the sections 13 produce a parallel beam.
