Abstract
691,451. Draw benches. KREIDLER, A. Aug. 15, 1951 [Aug. 16, 1950], No. 19210/51. Class 83 (iv). In a draw bench for a rod or tube, an ejec. tor mounted on the carriage is engaged by a fixed stop to eject the rod &c. at the end of the drawing operation. A carriage 2 running on a bench 1 has gripping jaws 5 between which an ejector arm 7 passes to eject the rod or tube. The arm 7 is mounted on a shaft 8 having an arm 9 engageable by a stop 12 on the bench at the end of the drawing stroke and normally held by a spring 10 against a stop 11 so that the arm 7 is below the jaws. The jaws 5 are longitudinally slidable in oblique grooves in arms 4 on the carriage and are moved to engage or free the work by a lever 6 pivoted on the carriage. In a modification, the stop 12 is replaced by a spring-loaded lever or push rod the springs of which yield should the ejector arm 7 fail to free the work. The movement of the lever or push rod is adapted to switch off the driving motor or disengage a mechanical coupling in the drive.
