Abstract

691,209. Wall partitions; securing posts. BOND, F. N. J., and REED, G. T. April 18, 1951 [Oct. 4, 19501. No. 24243/50. Classes 20(i) and 20(iv) [Also in Group XXV] Means for securing one member between two fixed members particularly for securing the upper and lower frame members of a partition 3 between a ceiling 7 and a floor 19 comprises a bolt 1 and a nut 2, the latter being sunk co-axially with a recess 5 in the upper edge of the partition and the upper end of the bolt having a flanged boss 8 and a penetrating pin 11 screwed therein. The bolt is turned, e.g. with a spanner, or tommy bar, to displace it axially so that the pin 11 enters the ceiling plaster 7. The device may be used to fix one edge only of the partition, the other edge being held in position by spike member 20. In. a modification, Fig. 2, the bolt is moved axially without rotating when a nut 15, which bears on a plate 16, is turned. The pin 12 is shaped to penetrate concrete, brick &c. a rounded projection being used for connection with rolled steel &c.
