Abstract

829,287. Partitions. COMPACTOM Ltd., and HILL, H. H. July 12, 1956 [July 12, 1955], No. 20129/55. Class 20(4) [Also in Groups X1 and XXV] The top of a partition 13. Fig. 1, is held against a ceiling, which consists of pierced panels or plates P, by means of a runner 9 which engages the top of the partition 13 and a plurality of anchoring members, each having a hook 7 at its upper end for passing through a hole h in the ceiling and being secured at its lower end to the runner 9 or a member secured to the runner. The runner, which is of H-section, has a plurality of elongated apertures 11 in its web 10, the screw-threaded lower ends 8 of the anchor members being secured by nuts in the apertures 11 and the upper bifurcated ends forming hooks 7 which engage the ceiling panels. In a modification, Fig. 4, each anchor member has a single hook 7 and its lower end forms an eye 14 through which a screw 15 secures it to a batten B, the latter being concealed by the runner which is of channel form with two vertical flanges 16 to engage the partition.
