Abstract

1407699 Spacer for filler blocks P E PRODUCTS (NETHERTON) LTD 19 June 1973 [27 June 1972 20 July 1972] 30147/72 and 33878/72 Heading E1W A cruciform spacer for filler blocks between which concrete may be cast comprises four elongate arms 11 radiating from a central boss 12, the outer end of each arm having two flanges 21 at right angles to each other for receiving the corner of a block. The spacer may be secured to temporary shuttering boards by nails through apertures 17 in 'bosses 16 in each arm. The central boss 18 may be conically tapered towards the shuttering and may be provided with a threaded sleeve to receive light fixtures or suspended ceiling hangers. The arms 11 may 'be of T-shaped cross section. The thickness of the spacer may be such as to act as reinforcement spacing for bars laid between the blocks to form part of an intersecting grid of cast concrete beams.
