Abstract

706,227. Walls; building-blocks. HENDERSON, F. G. R., and CALDERWOOD, W. J. Feb. 9, 1953 [Nov. 9, 1951], No. 26265/51. Classes 20 (4) and 87 (1) The sockets 2 in foundation blocks 1 are threaded to engage sectional bars 3, the top bar having a nut 9 and spring washer 6 bearing on a gauge bar 8 which holds blocks 4 in position with bituminous cord in the joints between them. A wall formed of blocks 4 may be strengthened by a buttress built from superposed H-shaped blocks, the blocks 4 engaging in the recesses of the H-shaped blocks which are themselves apertured to receive vertical bars 3. The blocks 4 are locked in the recesses by tie bars which are apertured to be threaded over the bars 3. A wall may be built at right angles to another wall by the use of a T-shaped apertured tie.
