Class 39(i) [Also in Group XXXVI] In order to ensure the ultimate accurate spacing of the metal parts 3, 4, 5, forming part of a vacuum-tight envelope, undeformable ceramic supports c, c<SP>1</SP> are placed outside the glass parts 6, 7 of the envelope, to prevent the metal parts moving nearer together than is desired during the sealing together of the glass and metal.
