Abstract

In the course of producing a material from which articles, such as bandages, are subsequently to be made an active agent, such as active carbon or colloidal metal, is introduced before the material reaches its finished condition. In the case of a thread of a synthetic resin the active agent is introduced into the mix before it is extruded to form the thread or, alternatively, the thread may be carbonized after extrusion. The active material may similarly be introduced into the mix from which synthetic resin sheets are made.ALSO:In the course of producing a material from which articles, such as filters, are subsequently to be made an active agent, such as active carbon or colloidal metal, is introduced before the material reaches its finished condition. Thus in the case of a cotton fabric, carbon is introduced during spinning the thread, this being subsequently woven. In the case of a thread of a synthetic substance the active agent is introduced into the material before it is extruded, or the thread may be carbonized by heat-treatment after extrusion. It may similarly be introduced into the material from which synthetic resin or paper sheets are made.ALSO:In the course of producing a material from which articles such as bandages, are subsequently to be made an active agent, such as active carbon or colloidal metal, is introduced before the material reaches its finished condition. Thus in the case of a cotton bandage, carbon is introduced during spinning the thread, this being subsequently woven to form the bandage. In the case of a thread of a synthetic substance the active agent is introduced into the material before it is extruded to form the thread, or the thread may be carbonised after extrusion. It may similarly be introduced into the material from which synthetic resin sheets are made.
