Classes 39(ii), 75(ii) and 75(iv) In an anti-dazzle arrangement a vehicle lamp having an electric incandescent lamp bulb 13 mounted at the focus of a reflector formed by rotation of a parabola 1 about an axis 2 passing through the focal point 3 of the parabola and perpendicular to the axis of symmetry 4 of the parabola, is mounted on a vehicle so that the axis of rotation of the parabola is substantially vertical and so that the light is directed generally laterally of the vehicle to illuminate the road alongside the vehicle on its offside and preferably also to the front and rear of the vehicle. As shown, the reflector may be formed by rotation of the parabola 1 between the points 5 and 6 through 180 degrees. The lamp bulb 13, Fig. 5, may be rotatable in its socket and may have its front portion 14 and part of one side 15 provided with a back reflecting surface to provide greater concentration of light in a desired direction. The lamp may be operated by a pedal switch or by a photo-electric cell arrangement operable by the headlights of an approaching vehicle.
