Abstract

The variable-beam motor vehicle headlight has a double-filament bulb and a single lens with zones striated in different patterns, and the bulb conforms to the requirements for the Standardised European Pass Light. The bulb is inclined to the axis (X-X) of a single parabolic reflector (4), and is rotated about its axis so that the rays emitted by the light filament pass, after reflection, through the striated lens zone producing a fog beam. The rays for the full beam pass from the full-beam filament, with or without those from the pass light filament, through the entire lens (7) after reflection.
