688,558. Securing cables and conduits. RAESS, P. Aug. 16, 1950 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 20367/50. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] Staples for securing cables, conduits, &c. to walls &c. are made from metal strip, such as steel bent into U-shape 1 with the ends shaped as two or more spikes 3 with one side bevelled as at 3<SP>1</SP> so that on driving the staple the spikes diverge. The staples are also bevelled internally or externally at 4. The staple may be wide enough to span a number of conduits in which case it is corrugated to fit them. The legs of the staple may be roughened to increase the holding power.
