688,415. Clocks. JUNGHANS, H., and JUNGHANS, AKT.-GES. GEB. Sept. 18, 1950 [Sept. 17, 1949]. No. 22883/50. Class 139. An alarm clock, the alarm arrangement of which can be accurately set to a minute, is characterized in that for controlling the alarm arrangement there is provided a first control member rotating synchronously with the hour hand and, functionally connected with said member, a second control member which rotates synchronously with the minute hand, both control members having a common axis of rotation. The alarm release lever 28, Fig. 1, is controlled by two of the usual slotted cam and pin devices comprising a pin 21a rotated by the gear train 6a, 7 and 21 at one revolution per hour and an associated adjustable cam 23 having a slot 23a, and a pin 22a rotated at one revolution per, 12 hours by the gear train 6a, 7, 8 and 22 and an associated adjustable cam 24 having a slot 24a. The cam 23 is fixed to the alarm setting spindle 18 carrying a setting pointer 32 and is adjusted by rotation of a knob 19. The cam 24 is rotated from the shaft 18 through the reduction gear train 25, 29, 30 and 26 and its setting pointer 33 is rotated through an identical reduction gearing 25, 29, 30a and 34. The setting adjustment of the spindle 18 is facilitated by the co-operation of a sixty-toothed ratchet 37 with a pawl 38 which also prevents backward rotation of the spindle 18.
