Abstract
1,205,963. Calender timepieces. HAMILTON WATCH CO. Oct. 2, 1967 7 [Nov. 10, 1966], No.21451/70. Divided out of 1,205,962. Heading G3T. In a calender ring drive and date setting mechanism for a calender timepiece a calender ring is continuously driven from the dial train via a slip clutch, and means is provided for coupling a setting stem to the calender ring whereby the ring is adjustable by rotation of the stem. The calender ring 30 is driven continuously by a pinion 112 integral with a triangular cam 114 and a staff 110, the cam 114 being engaged by a spring 118 secured to a toothed wheel 116 rotatable on the staff 110 and driven by the dial train. The cam 114 and the spring 118 constitute a slip clutch, and during the setting of the calender ring 30 by a setting wheel 64, actuated by rotations of a stem 26, the pinion 112 and the cam 114 rotate relatively to the spring 118 and the wheel 116 so that the dial train is not affected. Alternatively the slip clutch may be formed by a conical surface 136, Fig.4 (not shown) an the pinion staff 110 engaged in a similarly shaped hole in the hub of the wheel 116.
