Abstract

1,259,667. Calendar timepieces. EBAUCHES S.A. Aug.29, 1969 [Aug.30, 1968], No.43249/69. Heading G3T. A calendar timepiece comprises a setting stem 27 able to occupy three different axial positions namely on inoperative rest position; a time setting position and a date setting position. A lever 28, pivoted at 29 and biased in a clockwise direction by a spring 30, supports a gear-wheel 33 and a date setting wheel 32. A neck portion 28b of the lever engages a groove 36 in a pinion 34 slidable along a portion 27a of square section of the stem 27 and a second lever 37, pivoted at 38, has a projection 37a which engages a groove 40 in the stem. A spring detent 39 defines three positions for the lever 37. The pinion 34 meshes with the gear 33 which, in the rest position shown, does not mesh with any other gear. When the stem is pulled outwardly the lever 37 pivots in a clockwise direction and rotates the lever 28 in an anti-clockwise direction, thus causing the gear-wheel 33 to mesh with a pinion 13. Rotation of the stem in this position enables the hands to be set and a pin 42 on the lever 28 operates an electric contact to break the oscillation maintaining circuit of the timepiece driving mechanism. When the stem 27 is pushed in to an intermediate position the star wheel 32 meshes with the toothing 26 of a date indicating crown 25 to enable adjustment of the date.
