Abstract

1453549 Calendar watches TIMEX CORP 23 Jan 1975 [25 April 1974] 3080/75 Heading G3T In an electric watch having a calendar ring such as date ring 5 and a stem 2 which is axially movable relative to a fixed bracket 22 between an inner position A and an outer position C in which a pinion 24 on the stem meshes with a toothing 4 of a movement wheel for hand setting, the bracket has an irregular camming aperture 31 in its base 34 and the stem has a locking portion 26 which co-operates with the aperture when the stem is in its inner position to prevent rotation of the stem in one direction and, when the stem is rotated in the other direction, to move the stem axially outward to an intermediate position B in which a member 7 is coupled to the stem and tabs 8 thereon engage the teeth 5a of the date ring to permit rapid setting of the date. As shown the watch also has a day dial 6 and the calendar indicators are visible through dial windows (13a, b,) Fig. 2 (not shown). The bracket 22 has resilient arms 23 which co-operate with stem surfaces 20, 21 to locate the stem axially. The cam surfaces of the bracket are formed by tabs 32 struck at an angle to base 34. The member 7 is attached to a bush (14) within which the stem can slide but which is coupled to the stem in position B.
