Abstract

1325951 Watches SUWA SEIKOSHA K K 28 May 1971 [9 June 1970] 17916/71 Heading G3T A watch dial 30 and movement 34 are mounted within a case 27 by means of a ring 28 which provides radial restraint of the dial and movement and prevents the movement 34 from being displaced toward the dial 30, relative circumferential displacement between the dial and movement also being prevented. For this circumferential location of the parts, a radial projection 50 on the dial 30 co-operates with a corresponding groove 51 in outer portion 31 of the ring 28, and an arcuate projection 47 on the ring 28 is received in a notch 46 in the movement 34. The ring 28 is made of plastics and has three resilient tongues 42 which grip the movement 34. The dial 30 is inserted within the ring portion 31 where it is resiliently held, and the assembly is then placed within the case 27 where it is retained by a member 21. The dial 30 may be of stone, jewel, or aluminium and may be held in the ring 28 by resilient, lipped tongues (53,) Figs.6 and 7 (not shown) on the ring which prevent axial displacement of the dial.
