728,871. Watches. LIP SOC. ANON. D'HORLOGERIE. May 15, 1953 [May 16, 1952], No. 13633/53. Class 139. An electric watch comprising a balance 1 maintained in oscillation electromagnetically and transmitting its oscillation through a connecting member 2 to a continuously rotating gear work 2b, 4-11 actuating the hands and containing a setting mechanism 14, 13, 16 for the hands 9, 12 is characterized in that it comprises a brake member 15 controlled by the setting mechanism and acting, during hand setting, on one of the elements 6 of the gearwork situated between the hand carrying shafts and the said connecting member 2. A spring 20 normally maintains the brake 15 away from the gear 6 but, upon rotation of the knob 14, a cam 17 on the spindle 16 moves the brake 15 into locking engagement with the gear 6.
