A refrigerant for a compression, condensation and evaporation system comprises a mixture of symmetrical dichlorotetrafluoroethane and monofluorodichloromethane, the pressure of which at a particular temperature is greater than the pressure at that temperature of either constituent considered alone. Preferably the mixture is azeotropic and comprises 70 per cent by weight of the dichlorotetrafluoroethane. Specification 645,096 is referred to.
