Abstract
672,375. Refrigerating. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 27, 1950 [March 3, 1949], No. 4981/50. Class 29 The motor driving the compressor of a refrigerating system, including a T-shaped evaporator 8 having a shelf-part 12 to which the liquid refrigerant is first fed, is controlled by a thermostat bulb 24 mounted on a bracket 29 of low thermal conductivity on the shelf 12 and held in place by a fin 27 extending into the storage space so that the bulb is responsive both to the temperature of the shelf and of the storage space. The bracket 29has a pip 31 about which the fin 27 pivots when a screw 28 is tightened so that the bulb is clamped. Alternatively the bracket and the fin have inclined parallel parts which give a relative movement when the screw is tightened to secure the bulb. The fin may be of aluminium and the bracket of stainless steel.
