Abstract

1,026,513. Refrigerators. ELECTROLUX Ltd. March 18, 1963 [Dec. 10, 1962], No. 10536/63. Heading F4H. In a refrigerator having a low temperature chamber 14 cooled by an evaporator 18 of an absorption refrigerating machine and a storage chamber 10 cooled by an evaporator 20, the supply of heat to the boiler is controlled by a thermostat, the thermally-sensitive element of which is heat-conductively connected to the outer surface of the inner liner 11. The sensitive element is removably positioned in a sleeve 24, which is connected by heat conducting material 25 to the inner liner 11, and is connected to the thermostat (not shown) by a pipe 22. The evaporator 20 is connected in series with and downstream of the evaporator 18 and the heat source for the boiler may have only a high and a low temperature setting, the latter being such that the liquid refrigerant supply is substantially completely evaporated in evaporator 18 and little cooling is produced in evaporator 20. Alternatively, the heat source may be shutdown completely on receipt of a suitable signal from the thermostat.
