[Class 29] In a refrigerator cooled by an evaporator having a cylindrical header 14 fitted with a vapour-separating baffle 47 and connected with refrigerant conduits 15, as described in Specification 494,865, a temperature sensitive capsule 22 of the thermostat controlling the circuit of the motor of the refrigerating machine is located on the wall of the evaporator just above the quiet zone of the header, so that it responds to the temperature of the evaporator and also to the temperature of the air circulating in the storage space of the cabinet. The evaporator has a part 37 extending above the header to provide a flange 38 by which it is secured to the top of the cabinet, with the interposition of a cork &c. layer 45. The capsule is secured in position by a clamping plate 35. Specification 308,773, [Class 29], also is referred to.
