359,119. Refrigerating. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Woodruff, H. S. ; 163, Plymouth Avenue, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Aug. 28, 1930, No. 25756. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1929. [Class 29.] Compression machines and systems.-A refrigerant evaporator for use in refrigerator cabinets comprises an upper metal plate 15, Fig. 2, for supporting the articles to be cooled and in which is pressed a recess 22 forming a liquid refrigerant header, a middle plate formed with refrigerant circulating channels 24, 25 and welded along the parts 26 and its outside edges to the plate 15, and a dished lower plate 29 adapted to be welded at its edges to the middle plate and to contain brine which forms a cold accumulator. The evaporator is provided with refrigerant inlet and outlet pipes 19, 20 respectively, and is suspended by rods 11, welded to the upper plate, from the removable cover 12, Fig. 1, of a refrigerator cabinet, the cover also supporting the compression refrigerating machine 14. The motor driving the refrigerating machine is controlled through a member 141 in accordance with the evaporator temperature.
