[Class 29] Means for collecting moisture during defrosting of a cabinet evaporator of the flat plate type 12, located at or just below the top of the storage space, comprises a pair of dished drip pans 15, 15a with flanged centre, openings 16, 16ct and with sumps 22, 23, 22a, 23a, separated by dams 24, 24a and draining through holes 22a into a deep receptacle of small horizontal section placed on a shelf below. A #-shaped baffle 20 is mounted on the evaporator above the centre openings, through which a circulation of air is possible. The evaporator and drip pans are substantially of the full area of the cabinet, and the evaporator may comprise a plate element with tubular members 13 below it, as set forth in U.S.A. Specification 2,009,910.
