Abstract

442,659. Refrigerating. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Aug. 19, 1935, No. 23272. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1934. [Class 29] The storage space of a refrigerator cabinet is cooled by an evaporator formed by welding to the lining 13 of the space a metal plate 28 having indentations forming a header 29 and a manifold 30 connected by channels 31. Refrigerant liquid is supplied to the manifold through a pipe 26 provided with orifices 36 disposed opposite alternate channels to promote circulation of the refrigerant. The pipe 26 is supplied from a float chamber 25 connected to condenser coils 21, 22 arranged around the inside of the outer metal wall of the cabinet and communicating with a sealed compressor-motor unit 19. A shelf 18 for ice trays is provided.
