446,078. Refrigerators. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30260. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1934. [Class 29] Compression machines.-A flooded evaporator for refrigerating-machines includes headers 21 and 22 connected by refrigerant circulating passages into which refrigerant is injected through apertures 38 in order to circulate liquid refrigerant from one header to the other, other passages 23 and 24 being provided to allow the refrigerant to complete its cycle of circulation by returning from the second header to the first. The evaporator is formed by securing together two internested U- shaped elements which are provided with indentations to form the headers and passages. The vapour outlet 14a is led from the interior of a baffle 48 in the form of a cup. Further baffles 41 and 42 in the form of perforated discs are secured on each side of the cup. These baffles form a quiet zone in the liquid around the outlet pipe so that the lubricant separates from the refrigerant and is drawn back to the compressor with the vaporized refrigerant.
