Abstract
591,477. Refrigerators. BURGESS, A. F. (Dole Refrigerating Co.). April 16, 1945, No. 9433, [Class 29] Staggered refrigerating plates 2a, 2e on which food is placed in a cabinet 1 comprise thin metal sheets 3, 4 enclosing a refrigerant coil 5, the plates being hermetically sealed and exhausted so that the sheets make good thermal contact with the coil. Air is circulated over the plates by a fan 22 and refrigerant is supplied to the coils, which' are connected in series, by a refrigerating machine 24. A further plate 2 is arranged under the roof of the cabinet, and a storage space 36 has a plate 2f at its upper part. Access to the cabinet and storage space is had by doors 43, 44. The plates are exhausted through nipples 7 with ball valves, and may be filled with eutectic solution. The cold air may pass from the lowermost shelf 2e to the storage chamber 36 and back to the fan. Angle brackets 39 on the walls of the cabinet support the plates.
