618,565. Refrigerating; thermostats. FRIGIDAIRE, Ltd., and ABBOTT, F. A. S. Nov. 5, 1946. No. 32782. [Classes 29 and 64(ii)] The expansion valve 4 of a refrigerating system contains a diaphragm 7 influenced on one side by the circulating refrigerant and a spring 5 and on the other by a mixture of a refrigerant and an inert gas contained in a capsule 9 attached to the evaporator coil. The thermal control system comprises the diaphragm chamber, a pipe line 8 and the capsule 9 positioned on a suitable part of the evaporator 2 and may be charged with a mixture of methyl chloride and nitrogen. Dichlorodifluoromethane and CO2 may be used.
