Abstract
687,507. Turbine and compressor blades. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. June 21, 1950 [June 28, 1949], No. 15526/50. Class 110(iii) A turbine or compressor blade has an extended intermediate portion 3 between the root portion 2 and the effective portion 1, and a distance piece 4 is mounted on the rotor disc 6 between two adjacent blades, the outer extremity of the distance piece being level with the inner ends of the effective portions of the blades and being of the same shape as the space between the two blades. The distance piece has a double fork joint and may be pivotally mounted by a bolt 5 inclined to the rotor axis, or fixedly secured by two bolts one passing through each of. the fork joints parallel to the rotor axis. Cheek plates 8, 8a are secured to the rim of the rotor disc, and cooling air enters through the apertures 11 and through the passages 10 and is discharged through apertures 12. The blades may be hollow, the opposite walls being braced by crossmembers.
