A record card or sheet holder having tongues adapted to receive the record cards in overlapping relation comprises a plurality of holding sheets, each provided lengthwise with a series of slots forming resilient clamping tongues, and arranged so that the tongues of one sheet pass through the slots of the other sheet or sheets and are adapted to receive and clamp the inserted record cards in the gap between the resilient tongues or between the tongue and the sheet beneath. As shown in Figs. 4, 5 and 6, each sheet 10, 20 is provided with a series of slots 13, having slots 12 each side to provide tongues in a series. Only one series may be provided, or as in Fig. 4, two series 11a, 21a and 11b, 21b which clamp record cards 30. As in Figs. 5 and 6, a double series 111a, 121a and 111b, 121b may alternate with a second series 211a, 221a and 211b, 221b facing the opposite side of the holder when assembled to hold cards 30 on both sides. In a modification, a double series of slots and tapers slope inwardly and downwardly and this may be combined on the same pair of sheets with a single series of horizontal slots. If desired to fasten the cards to the holder, a gummed tape may be provided between the two series of tongues, for additional securing, as in Fig. 4, a series of pins 31 may be provided which engage holes in the cards 30, or, as in Figs. 9, 10, the tongues 56 have stamped out portions 57, 59 leaving a tab 58, the tab 58 engaging a slot 61, and the edge 60 of the cut out 59 engaging a cut out part 70 on the record card 55. In further modifications (not shown) one end of the tongue is hollowed out to provide a tab interfitting with a tab on the record card, or the inner ends of the tongues of a double series are provided with projecting tabs which engage holes in slots in the record cards. Covers 90 of celluloid or the like may be provided over the bridges 24 and extend up over the tops of the tongues 21, and not form a pocket over the bridge 24. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also an endless record sheet, with folds and/or with tearing edges, which can be separated into booking slips for use with the record holder, the sheet being first printed in an accounting machine. When folds and tearing edges are provided, each slip is provided with a fold which fits over the top. of a tongue 21. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
