Abstract
687,322. Roller mills. ROBINSON & SON, Ltd., T. Aug. 20, 1951 [May 3, 1951], No. 10371/51. Class 59 [Also in Group XXX] In a roller mill, the delivery hoppers 5 have no opening in the bottom through which the ground material can pass, the bottom of each hopper being of channel formation 6 in which is mounted a rotating worm 7 or other mechanical conveyer, each hopper having in it or connected to one or more of its walls a suction pipe or pipes 8 of a pneumatic conveying system, the opening or openings in the pipe or pipes. being at, or adjacent to, the position or positions to which the ground material is carried or propelled by the mechanical conveyer or conveyers. The mill and suction pipes are constructed as a single unit. The channels are each provided at or adjacent to the inlets of the suction pipes with a propeller, paddles or other device to throw the ground material upwards towards the inlets. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown),. the suction pipes are disposed inside the mill. Specification 687,321 is referred to.
