Abstract
687,321. Roller mills. ROBINSON & SON, Ltd., T. Aug. 20, 1951 [May 3, 1951], No. 10370/51. Class 59 [Also in Group XXX] In a roller mill, the delivery hopper 12 has no opening in its bottom or walls through which the ground material can fall, the ground material passing upwardly through a suction pipe 14 of a pneumatic conveying system. The mill and suction pipe are constructed as a unit. The nozzle 13 of the suction pipe is provided with an upper air inlet and is surrounded by a tube 17 provided with a cowl 18. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), each pair of grinding rollers is provided with its own delivery hopper. In a further modification, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the suction pipes pass upwardly outside the mill from openings in the side walls of the hoppers. The hopper bottom may be formed by a curved plate or other guide. Specification 687,322 is referred to.
